For most kids, it’s a day they have been waiting for and for you, it may be a lonely one. If it is a tough day for you, be proactive in planning the day -visit a friend or family, go on a hike, do a DIY project, take a cooking class or soak up the sun! Spend the time to lift yourself up, do something for you and learn to love your alone time!
Help your kids make an easy transition; be upbeat, be interested and be cordial when making the hand off. When they return don’t play 20 questions, let them lead the conversation and let them know you were glad they were able to spend time with their other parent and keep things positive.
